Does Whois Privacy protect me from a UDRP?

What kind of protection does whois privacy really provide? Protection from whom? Lawyers, Law Enforcement?

According to this article on DNW, there may not be that much protection from any kind of legal complaint.

The main purpose of whois privacy is to reduce spam. I think, as a domainer, that I WANT to hear from potential buyers -- so I rarely use whois privacy.
